As sports like baseball, hockey, and basketball have returned post COVID-19 hiatus, this begs the question if we will see the NFL return in 2020. Players have returned to the field for pre-season training camp, but many star players have opted out. Marquise Goodwin, Dont'A Hightower, and Damien Williams are just a few players who have said they are going to sit out this upcoming season (CBS Sports). So, what does the future hold for the NFL? In a sport that relies on full-contact with no room for social distancing, how can players, coaches, and staff members be protected against COVID-19? Will new helmet shield designs even be successful?

Well, you could be like the Denver Broncos and mist your players with "COVID sanitization" as they enter the training facility or you could just accept that the realities of the pandemic we are in may end your hopes of seeing Brady finally dawn a Bucs jersey (something I don't care about).

With 59 reported positives cases of coronavirus (NFL), if the NFL doesn't "bubble", their season might pop. Frankly, I don't know what to think about this. I'm still recovering from hearing that The Rock bought the XFL.

If you know me, you know I love football - Patriots football. With the acquisition of Cam Newton, I'm beyond hyped to watch him play in navy and red, but I may not see it for a while. Which, given the public health crisis, is insignificant.

So, what now?

There isn't much information out there on what will happen to the 2020-2021 NFL season, it is all just speculation. The NFL hasn't said much, and I am not sure when they will make the call. For now, I am not not hopeful that football will happen.
