Alexa Sandler is an award-winning sports photographer and content creator. Right out of college, she worked for the Dayton Dragons (the High-A affiliate for the Cincinnati Reds) where she captured several incredible moments including rehab visits by Joey Votto and Luis Castillio, several walk-off wins, and numerous ballpark events.

 

In college, at DePaul University, Alexa worked for The DePaulia, DePaul University's student run newspaper, where she photographed a wide range of sports including basketball, soccer, and softball. During her time there, Alexa photographed many historic sports moments like the 2019 Women's Big East Tournament Finals, 2020 Women's Big East Tournament Finals, and a DePaul student's first professional boxing match.

Alexa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Advertising with a minor in Communication and Media from DePaul University in 2021.
 
Notable Achievements:

• First place recipient of the Sports Photo category for the 2019 Award for Excellence in Illinois College Newspapers sponsored by the Illinois College Press Association (ICPA).

• Published in 14 East Magazine about women pursuing careers in sports. This was a top read article in 2019.

• Published in Hire DePaul blog post about her journey from DePaul to her current career.

• DePaul produced a video about me and sports photojournalism.
