Holy yes! Kim Ng became the first woman and first Asian GM as she signed with the Miami Marlins. This is so incredible that I am at a loss for words. Ng has been in the baseball world since 1990 as an Assistant Director of Baseball Operations with the Chicago White Sox after graduating from University of Chicago. Since then, she has worked for the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers. Ng has 30+ years of experience and she finally had her dreams come true as she stated "when i got into this business, it seemed unlikely a woman would lead a major league team, but I am digged in the pursuit of my goals" (via MLB on Instagram).

Her hiring was groundbreaking for women and POC in sports. Ng has expressed her gratitude for the empowering women who have helped her get to where she is now saying "I was fortunate to have strong, independent women in my life when I was growing up....the least I can do is pay that forward" (via MLB on Instagram).

Needless to say, this is big news for women in sports. Not only is she the first woman to take this role in the MLB, but in all of the four major sports leagues. I'm so excited to watch Ng flourish. Historic.
